April 21 & 22, 2018 -- Saturday & Sunday
How can you participate? The Darke County Community Clean-Up days are scheduled for April 21 & 22, 2018, rain or shine. The collection is set to begin at 8:00 a.m Saturday. To accomdate all of our volunteers, the district is making this a two-day event. The district is looking for numerous groups of 4 or 5 to “pound the pavement” at their assigned 2-mile (depending on cross roads, sections maybe longer or shorter than 2 miles) locations picking-up bags of trash and recyclables. Clean-up groups can be started with friends from school, work, church, and volunteer organizations or clubs. Call the district at 937-547-0827 to offer in-kind support. Each group will be given black bags for trash and clear bags for recyclables. For separating the recyclables from the trash, each group will be awarded $50 for participating. The $50 award must be given to a non-profit organziation. Trucks from the Darke County Highway Garage will follow assigned routes and will pick-up bags left on the targeted collection roads on Monday.

Electronics Recycling Day

May 23, 2018 -- Wednesday
After collecting 185,000 lbs. in one day in two different barns on the Darke County Fairgrounds in 2008, the Darke County Commissioners and district staff decided to make electronics an annual collection!! No more holding electronics for our even-year collection!! This event is FREE to any Darke County Resident or Business. Preregistration is required to participate. Preregistration makes for shorter waits and allows us to order enough shipping supplies to handle such an event. To enhance the day, we are offering you the opportunity to share non-perishable food items to benefit our local food pantries.

Don't want to wait??? Goodwill is now accepting computers and accessories. Goodwill is not responsible for data or other personal information left on hard drives and storage media. Visit www.reconnectpartnership.org for more info.

Televisions can be taken to 1Shot Services on Hahn Road near Gettysburg. At this time, there is a small charge for this service.

Pre-registration forms are available about 30 days in advance. Need a pre-registration form? Go to our Home Page!!
